Festival of Cake Cake Picnic Terms & Conditions

By booking your Cake Picnic ticket via Platinumlist, you must confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to the CAKE PICNIC Waiver, Terms & Conditions, and all related declarations.

 

I confirm that my entry has been prepared in my own kitchen, business kitchen, or other facility of my choosing, or bought in store and I accept full responsibility for its preparation.

 

I understand that the Festival of Cake, TGP International, Expo City Dubai, sponsors, and staff are not responsible for the preparation environment, food safety, allergies, or any health issues relating to my entry.

 

I accept responsibility for transporting my entry safely to the venue and acknowledge that the organizers are not liable for any damage, loss, or spoilage in transit.

 

Every attendee must bring 1 cake per person, 8 inch wide, 3 inch height minimum.

 

Food Handling & Safety: I confirm that I am responsible for preparing and storing my cake safely prior to the event. Cakes must be transported in a manner that prevents spoilage, contamination, or damage. Cakes containing perishable ingredients (such as dairy fillings, fresh fruit, or whipped cream) must be properly refrigerated prior to the event and transported accordingly. I confirm that any guests for whom I purchase tickets also understand and agree.

 

Compliance with Local Regulations: I confirm that my Cake Picnic entry has been prepared, stored, and transported in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations of Dubai Municipality, including food hygiene and safety requirements.

 

Sole Responsibility: I acknowledge that I am solely responsible for ensuring my entry is safe for consumption. I accept full liability for any illness, injury, allergic reaction, or other adverse effect arising from the preparation, ingredients, or consumption of my entry.

 

No Warranty: I understand that the Festival of Cake, TGP International, Expo City Dubai, sponsors, and staff make no representation or warranty regarding the safety, quality, or suitability of any entry for consumption.

 

Allergen Disclosure: I agree to clearly label my cake with any common allergens it contains (such as nuts, dairy, gluten, eggs, soy, or others). I understand that failure to disclose allergens may expose other participants to risk, and I accept full responsibility and liability for any adverse effects caused by undeclared allergens in my entry.

 

Allergies & Dietary Restrictions: I acknowledge that consuming any cakes at the event is at my own risk. I am responsible for labeling my cake with allergens, and I understand that the organizers are not liable for foodborne illness, allergic reactions, or other adverse effects from consuming cakes. I confirm that any guests for whom I purchase tickets also understand and agree.

 

Indemnity: I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Festival of Cake, TGP International, Expo City Dubai, sponsors, and staff against any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from or connected with my Cake Picnic entry.

 

Organizer’s Right to Remove: I acknowledge that the organizers reserve the right, at their sole discretion, to refuse, remove, or disqualify my Cake Picnic entry if it is deemed to pose a potential health or safety risk or violate Dubai Municipality regulations.

 

No Inspection: I acknowledge that the organizers are not responsible for testing, inspecting, or verifying the safety, quality, or compliance of any Cake picnic entries, and that entries are accepted and consumed at participants’ own risk.

 

Minors: I acknowledge that children and minors attending the Festival of Cake remain the sole responsibility of their parent or guardian, and the organizers are not liable for their participation or consumption of Cake Picnic entries.

I release and hold harmless the Festival of Cake, TGP International, Expo City Dubai, staff, and sponsors from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from my participation in Cake Picnic

I grant permission for my name, image, and Cake Picnic entry to be photographed/filmed and used for promotional purposes without compensation.

I agree to abide by the official Festival of Cake – Cake Picnic Terms & Conditions.

I consent to my personal details being used for competition administration and communications. 

 

General Clauses

 

Event Changes: I acknowledge that the organizers may postpone, cancel, or modify the Cake Picnic or its related activities at their discretion, including for reasons of safety, public health, weather conditions, or directives from Dubai authorities. I understand that the organizers shall not be liable for any loss, inconvenience, or expenses resulting from such changes.

 

General Disclaimer: I acknowledge that participation in the Cake Picnic (whether as a participant, guest, or attendee) involves inherent risks. I agree that the Festival of Cake, TGP International, Expo City Dubai, sponsors, and staff shall not be held responsible for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, injury, or damage arising from participation in the event.

 

Governing Law & Jurisdiction

This waiver shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Dubai and the United Arab Emirates. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Dubai Courts.

Ingredient Sourcing

  1. Use only commercially packaged ingredients from reputable sources.

  2. No use of raw eggs (use pasteurized eggs).

  3. Keep purchase receipts for traceability.

 

Preparation Environment

  1. Ensure kitchen area is clean, pest-free, and well-lit.

  2. Surfaces sanitized before and after preparation.

  3. Separate raw and ready-to-eat food areas.

  4. Food handler must be healthy, no open wounds or illness.

  5. Wear hair restraint, gloves, and clean apron.

 

Equipment & Utensils

  1. Use food-grade, clean utensils.

  2. No use of wooden or cracked surfaces.

  3. Use separate utensils for raw and finished products.

 

Baking / Cooking Process

  1. Bake at ≥75°C internal temperature.

  2. Use clean oven.

  3. Ensure complete baking of all layers (especially moist cakes).


Cooling & Decoration

  1. Cool the cake on a clean, elevated rack, covered, and in a pest-free area.

  2. Avoid keeping perishable fillings (like cream or custard) at room temperature for more than 2 hours.


7. Storage Before Event

  1. If the cake contains cream, milk, or fruits, store at ≤5°C.

  2. Dry cakes (without cream) may be stored at ambient temperature (<25°C) in covered containers.

  3. Keep cake covered to prevent dust and insect exposure.


8. Transportation

  1. Use clean, covered containers for transport.

  2. Maintain cold chain if cream-based.

  3. Avoid transporting with other materials (like cleaning agents).


9. Display at Event

  1. Display on clean, elevated tables, away from direct sunlight.

  2. Keep covered until serving.

  3. Use physical barriers (e.g., transparent covers or sneeze guards).


10. Serving

  1. No bare-hand contact with cake.

  2. Use clean serving utensils only.

  3. Hand sanitizer station nearby.

  4. Preparing the cake at home one day in advance is not permitted to minimize the risk of microbial growth and ensure freshness.



11. Allergen Control

  1. Display allergen information.

  2. Also include general advisory: “Contains common allergens.”


12. Traceability & Documentation

  1. Retain ingredient receipts and preparation date.

  2. Keep a sample (50g) of the cake refrigerated for 48 hours post-event (for investigation if needed.
