Tickets
No, tickets are valid for one specific day only. You'll need a separate ticket for each day you wish to attend.
Themes & Briefs
Yes, but only for certain categories:
- Professional – Wedding Cake: Winter Sun
- Professional, Amateur & Junior – Novelty Cake: Take Me to Dubai
Not every subcategory has a set theme.
Themes are left open to interpretation. Contestants have full freedom to explore them creatively—whether through design, decoration, flavour, or storytelling. The idea is to showcase your own style while reflecting the theme in a way that feels unique to you.
Entry Specifications
Some categories and subcategories do have size requirements, while others do not. Please check the rules for your chosen category to confirm the exact specifications for your entry. Full details can be found in the Terms & Conditions.
Ingredients & Tasting
Yes, tasting is required. Each subcategory has its own rules, which are outlined in the Terms & Conditions. For example, in the Cookies subcategory, contestants must submit six cookies for the judges to taste. Please refer to the specific rules of your chosen subcategory to ensure your entry meets all requirements.
Production & Drop-off
Unlike televised bake-off competitions, the Festival of Cake Bake Off has a unique twist. Contestants will prepare and complete their cakes at home or in their own establishments. All entries must then be delivered to the venue between 9:00am and 11:00am on the day of judging. No ingredients or equipment will be provided on site.
The Organiser is not responsible for any loss or damage during transport or storage. Please ensure your cake is stable and well-protected.
Judging & Awards
Winners in each category will receive a Gold, Silver, or Bronze award. Full prize details will be announced closer to the festival.
No. Cakes must be delivered between 9:00am and 11:00am. Judging will then take place from 12:00pm to 4:00pm without contestants present.
Each subcategory has its own judging criteria, detailed in the Terms & Conditions and official Bake Off Brochure. All entries are scored out of 100 points:
- Gold: 90–100
- Silver: 80–89
- Bronze: 70–79
Winners are announced on the same day as your category, during the Awards Ceremony on the Main Stage at the Al Wasl Dome, from 8:00pm onwards. We encourage contestants to attend and celebrate the results live.
We'll attempt to contact winners ahead of the ceremony to confirm attendance. If you're not on site, your win will still be announced, and we'll reach out afterward to arrange prize collection. You may nominate a guest who is already at the festival to collect on your behalf.
Please ensure they provide your name and category to the Main Stage team, along with photo ID for verification.
